"Letters to Emancipendence"

The Pantomime celebrated Emancipation and Independence with a dramatic presentation of songs, speech, dance inspired by the words of our seven National Heroes. The response was so positive that there are plans to remount the work during Heroes Week in October.... more

REMEMBERING
PROFESSOR REX NETTLEFORD

The Little Theatre Movement celebrates the life of Prof Rex Nettleford even as we mourn his passing. His association with the LTM begin when he choreographed 1959's Pantomime Jamaica Way with Eddy Thomas. He directed three National Pantomimes – 1960 “Carib Gold”, for which Louise Bennett was co-director. In 1971, he directed “Banana Boy” and in 1965 “Morgan’s Dream of Old Port Royal".

He also created movement for songs and choreography for more than 25 productions the last being 2009/10 Pantomime "Pirate Jack".
